Last night it was 8 pm and dinner hadn't yet been served... I scrounged up some left over (2 cups chili, 3 pieces meatloaf, couple sausages and some lasagna) - mixed it together creating a red looking mush... needless to say not to appetizing, presented it and Hamilton said to me "This is so creative, this is one of my best days ever to have this for dinner".  There was no sarcasm intended, just the warmth and thoughtfulness of an almost-8 year old wanting me to feel good.  WOW

This morning I realize I'm late with our taxes, need to get to it today, but the fact that we'll be owing money we don't have was daunting and the stress I'm feeling inside came out - I reminded everyone that we have to stop spending, we shouldn't have to go buy coffee every day, we shouldn't have to need special pears just so that we will eat fruit, we should be happy with what we have, find ways to cut costs ... Desiree responded - look at us, we are happy, we have each other!  WOW

Both condos are unrented and due to different reasons, need a lot of work to get them cleaned up and on the market asap - Tim just looked at me, with incredible strength and love in his eyes and said "Don't worry about it, I'll take care of it.  I've got it."  What else can I ask for!

I am so very lucky to have the support of Tim, Desiree and Hamilton - every day of my life!

to be able to enjoy nature from the warmth of our home

I have the luxury of working from home lately and I've setup my office such that I can, from all angles, look out a window and enjoy a peaceful view.  I see squirrels running up trees, snow falling, chipmunks struggling to make their way through the snow... it's positively peaceful.

Then shortly after 3 p.m. the kids arrive and I generally get a hug from Hamilton so big that it almost topples me over, between that and Desiree's quick peck and large smile ... my heart warms up and I am content.  I am so very lucky to have everything I have.

to have Tim as my husband!

Today, from the moment my mind started fluttering with my eyes still closed, all I could think of was how lucky I am to have Tim... I lay in bed on a cold winter morning and he's there to keep me warm... and before my eye lids open, I smell the fresh cup of coffee on my night stand... before I'm even dressed he tells me I'm beautiful... how perfect is that.  And it's what I get to experience every day of my life.

This evening I was sooo frustrated by the poor quality of internet service Zing Networks was provided (it was so bad, I had to visit a neighbor to use their network to send a critical document for work :-(  )... well, I was so frustrated and he called while I was at Ada's house (lovely neighbor 3 houses down).  He immediately said I'll get a new service setup tonight.  Well, it's now 3.5 hours later, and he's working through setting up a Rogers Hub.  How wonderful is he!  I am so very lucky to have Tim as my husband!!! I love you Tim Brian Thurman - forever!!!! xoxox

To have found a full service gas station!

I didn't even know they existed anymore. Imagine this: -20 Celsius and the
gas is registering below empty. Out of desperation I look for a gas station
to fill up. The only station not out of the way and it's full service. That
means I get to stay in the comfort of my warm car while the tank is filled.
I do feel a bit guilty... But fundamentally loving the indulgence. Woodbine
and 14th Ave - north west corner... I'll definitely be stopping there
again. I am so very lucky to have found one of the few remaining full
service stations!

to skate the world's largest ice rink!

Isn't life grand that a short 5 hour drive will take me to the world's
largest skating rink... Right here in Canada! The Rideau Canal, in Canada's
city capital - Ottawa! I am so very lucky to have spent the day with
Desiree & Hamilton and great friends ( Sabra, Bilal and Nadine) skating on
the Rideau, enjoying a warm hot chocolate and Canada's very own Beaver
Tail! Life can't get any better than that!

to be watching Desiree twirl and laugh at dance class!

It's wonderful when you have found something your passionate about... It makes you grin and giggle! I am so very lucky to be watching Desiree twirl all over the dance floor!
